Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Payroll Manager to lead the Payroll Operations Team and help drive people-centric projects across MFG.
In this role, you will lead the Payroll Team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of pay runs and the adherence to applicable awards and legislation. You will also oversee MFGs (Munro Footwear Groups) compliance and statutory obligations to the ATO and State Revenue Offices. Additionally, you will focus on the continuous improvement of payroll processes, promoting best practice standards across all functions.

* Create continuous process improvement ensuring best practice adherence
* Supervise out-of-system processes such as Government and Company Paid Parental Leave, WorkCover, Higher Duties, Incentives, Top Up payments, and overtime calculations
* Process month and year-end, including period close in Preceda, issue Income Statements, calculate and lodge Payroll Tax and Super, and calculate WorkCover actuals and estimates
* Provide an escalation point to the Payroll Team for complex pay queries
* Approve terminations, back-pays, LSL and overpayment calculations
* Supervise the maintenance of pay records, associated timekeeping data and statistics, leave records and related informatio
About You
* Proven experience as a Payroll Manager, leading a high-performing team.
* A continuous improvement mindset, always seeking ways to enhance the customer and internal Team Member experience
* With over 2500 employees you will have come from a large scale, complex payroll environment with experience in a similar size matrix organisation
* Experience working within Retail and other award and legislation interpretation
* Sound understanding of the General Retail Industry Award 2020; Exposure to the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020, Road and Transport Award 2020 and Clerks – Private Sector Award 2020, (Preferred)
* Be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of Long Service Leave, Worker's Compensation, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation Guarantee legislation and regulations
* Retail experience is preferred but not essential
* Experience with Preceda and HumanForce is advantageous\
* Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
