About the Role: As a key contributor to our engineering team, you will be responsible for producing accurate workshop machining and fabrication drawings, creating 3D models, and generating files for automated manufacturing. You'll collaborate with engineers, managers, and trades teams to ensure project goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities: Technical Drafting: Create precise 3D models, exploded diagrams, and workshop drawings suitable for fabrication and client use. Manufacturing Support: Generate files for automated manufacturing and assist the production team to ensure designs meet technical requirements. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and managers to monitor quality, share specialist knowledge, and raise team competence. Design Input: Support design tasks, contribute to design changes, and ensure updates are accurately documented. Quality Standards: Review and maintain engineering drawings to company standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Continuous Improvement: Participate in operational initiatives, report any risks or non-conformities, and suggest improvements to processes. What We're Looking For: Experience: Minimum 5 years in mechanical drafting or related disciplines, preferably with workshop fabrication exposure. Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks essential, AutoCAD Inventor preferred) and knowledge of industry standards, tolerances, and quality benchmarks. Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate, detailed, and high-quality documentation within specified timeframes. Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to addressing technical challenges and finding innovative solutions. Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Qualifications: Engineering or fabrication background and a C-Class driver's licence.
