About the Role:
As the Centre Director, you will be the driving force behind Gowrie Newstead Early Education and Care Centre. You’ll join a highly engaged community of teachers and educators who work collaboratively to realise our vision.
What we’re looking for:
1. Pedagogical Leadership: Guide and inspire a team of educators and teachers to deliver exceptional education and care for children and families.
2. Centre Management: Oversee the centre’s day-to-day operations, ensuring a balance between pedagogy and administration.
3. Relationship Building: Foster strong connections with families, community stakeholders, local schools, and support services.
4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Educational Leader and Assistant Centre Director to drive centre success.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, standards and frameworks.
6. Network Engagement: Collaborate with Gowrie’s Centre Director network and leverage support from a range of dedicated systems, resources and support staff.

About Newstead Early Education and Care:
The beautifully restored Newstead building was opened to the Orange community in 2022 as a 90 place early education and care centre. It effortlessly blends the charm of the past with modern amenities, creating a unique and inspiring environment for both educators and children. The thoughtful restoration has preserved the building’s historical character while ensuring it meets the needs of a contemporary early learning space. Natural light floods the classrooms and the atrium, and the spacious outdoor areas offer endless opportunities for play-based exploration. This setting offers Centre Directors a rare opportunity to lead in a space that is as welcoming and nurturing as it is architecturally stunning.
Essential requirements for the position are:
1. Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification)
2. Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
3. Completion of approved Child Protection course
4. Current approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management certificates
5. Experience managing a centre and leading a team, with proven ability to balance business acumen and pedagogy
6. Strong understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, legislation, Early Years Learning Framework and contemporary pedagogies that influence practice
7. Open to learning, well organised and clear communicator with effective verbal and written skills
