The Opportunity
As the Senior Urban Designer at the City of Perth, you'll lead diverse and exciting city shaping public realm projects. You will guide their planning, design, and implementation to positively impact the future of the City.
Reporting to the Lead City Designer within our Transport and Urban Design team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
1. Prepare specialist project briefs and proposals for inclusion in Council’s budget and programs for studies and works;
2. Manage studies, plans, frameworks, projects or works of a high-level complexity from inception to completion;
3. Prepare management plans and make policy recommendations in relation to urban design matters; and
4. Successfully lead, motivate and manage a multi-disciplined project team for capital works projects of a high complexity.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
5. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant design discipline or approved equivalent professional qualification;
6. Extensive and diverse experience planning, designing and delivering public realm projects.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of Standards Australia codes and practices and local government statutory requirements and processes necessary in the design and development of urban enhancement projects; and
8. A sound understanding of urban design principles, along with knowledge of relevant computerized applications.
