The role
Nobu Matsuhisa’s acclaimed Japanese Peruvian restaurant is the jewel amongst the restaurants of Crown Sydney. Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, the full-time Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Chef de Cuisine in leading a professional culinary team ensuring that the kitchen operates as a successful profit centre by, organising, directing, and controlling production and administration in accordance with Crown’s standards and policies. This role is responsible for delivering key business concept statements to deliver against set financial and people targets.
About you
* Proficiency and understanding in Japanese cuisine is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of the Nobu brand – advantageous
* Strong financial, organisational and communication skills.
* Set a leading example and inspire a team of kitchen professionals.
* Collaborate effectively within a team in a face-paced environment.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and satisfy internal and external stakeholder needs.
* Self-motivated and adaptable.
* Proficiency in tech applications such as Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP
* Relevant hospitality qualification in Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
