About the Role The School Administrative Manager is responsible for the efficient management of school financial and administrative systems, as well as supervision and training of school administration officers. Manages the provision of support for school activities and routines, including student welfare and wellbeing, and works with the school principal, the school executive and teaching staff as required. Essential Requirements Working with Children Check Clearance First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training. Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs. Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Capacity to supervise staff. Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage an office. Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community. Our bushland site provides a mix of open playground areas and natural bush offering an engaging learning environment. Jewells Primary School continues to service the suburb of Jewells, with enrolments mirroring the changing demographics of the suburb. The current enrolment is 270 students and a FOEI of 84. Currently 12.3% of our students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 9% who are learning English as an additional language or dialect. The school services a diverse community, and students are spread across 11 classes with one of these classes being an Opportunity Class for academically gifted students from across the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle area selected through the NSW DoE Selective Schools Unit. Jewells Primary School has strong established connections with the wider community, including an active P&C who provide an Out of Hours School Care service, the local Minimbah Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, Girrinbai Preschool and the Wakul Karabang Community of Schools.
