We are leaders in our communities in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast and pride ourselves on helping shape a better tomorrow.The Faculty of Health provides an exciting and innovative learning environment working with individuals, families and communities in order to meet their health needs and requirements.About the opportunitySouthern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a Research Fellow who will lead the coordination and implementation of research activities for the PREDICT (Prevention & Early Delirium Identification Carer Toolkit) Trial.This research-focused role is funded by a NHMRC Partnership Grant and provides an early career researcher with the opportunity to develop/expand their track record, develop leadership capacity, and produce impactful research to support older adults and their family carers’ wellbeing and improve health care service delivery.A core part of this postdoctoral role will be to develop research leadership skills within a program of research on the promotion of supporting partnerships with family carers to prevent delirium.Your core responsibilities will include:Providing methodological, technical and practical assistance essential to meeting project deliverables.Successfully coordinating the clinical and research teams involved in the PREDICT Trial to ensure accurate and efficient data collection, data analysis and publication of results.Contributing to the Faculty and PREDICT Trial research profile through publications in high-quality journals and successful applications for grant funding, as a member of the PREDICT Trial research team.Supervision of HDR students leading to their timely completion.Undertaking knowledge translation activities.Participating in relevant community and professional activities including attendance and presentations at seminars and/or conferences.Working across multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including liaising with high-level health service executives.About youYou are passionate about research in health sciences and more specifically, you will have:PhD in a relevant field.An emerging track record in research (relative to opportunity), as evidenced through indicators such as lead and co-authored publications, funding applications, conference presentations, national/international collaborations, and/or student supervision.High level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate research outcomes to general audiences and via non-scientific media.Experience in developing and submitting applications for research funding.Experience in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with research partners and key stakeholders, for example, to facilitate the delivery of existing projects and/or develop new projects.Salary and benefitsOur staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer’s leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is:Fixed term (36 Months).Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480 or remotely.Academic Level B. The base salary ranges from $110,611- $130,814 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation.
