Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Stream Leader
Location: Sandringham Hospital, Melbourne, Australia
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as a Senior Occupational Therapist and Stream Leader at Sandringham Hospital.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity with 80 hours per fortnight. Part-time applicants are also welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Occupational Therapy stream in General Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive the model of care on the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) ward.
* Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy service delivery to support early progression of care and discharge pathways to home for patients.
* Collaborate with the Grade 3 Occupational Therapy Steam Leader of the General Medicine stream at The Alfred to enhance workflow processes for general medicine patients across both sites.
* Develop the clinical practice of individuals and the wider teams.
* Lead various teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service, Allied Health directorate, and clinical program.
Requirements:
* Advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills in general medicine and surgical diagnostic groups.
* Evidence-based practice in care of delirium and dementia, falls, and pressure care.
* Stream leadership experience and provision of supervision to occupational therapy staff, allied health assistants, and occupational therapy students.
* A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development.
* Understanding of quality improvement/research frameworks and research translation skills.
