We act for humanity.About the roleThe Young Parents Program takes a strengths-based early intervention approach, building the capacity of young parents to live independently in appropriate housing, develop parenting and life skills to ensure best outcomes for their children.The Case Manager is responsible for supporting young parents aged 13-19yrs (residential) and 13-24yrs (outreach), and their children to work towards their case plan goals. The role supports young parents with complex needs and behaviours to develop independent parenting and living skills, through the provision of integrated, individualised case management, behaviour support and direct parenting and emotional support to ensure best possible outcomes for children.About youProven experience in casework/ case management including holistic assessment of client needs and development of case plansExperience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds with respect and humilityAbility to provide practical and emotional support to families including the development of life and parenting skillsUnderstanding of adolescent development and best practice working with young women and men with complex needs and behaviours and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues facing young parents and their childrenDemonstrated understanding of parent craft, child development, health care needs of babies/children and best practice in parenting newborns, toddlers, and younger children.A relevant degree in social work, social welfare or psychology is highly desirable for this roleThis role requires availability to participate in an on-call roster, providing remote support and attending recall duties as needed, including overnight.A Working with Children Check and Australian Drivers Licence are mandatory requirements for this role.Benefits that act for you, while you act for humanityFinancial wellbeing: In addition to your salary, you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
