SC7 Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently Role The Victorian College for the Deaf (VCD) and the University of Melbourne (UoM) have been in partnership since 2021 through the Tech School Program, an initiative of the Victorian Government¿s Department of Education. Both organizations' are committed to improving deaf education learning experiences to students across Victoria and have created a new, shared role to enhance the partnership and accessibility of the program. The Classroom Teacher & Outreach Manager focuses on teaching in the classroom at VCD (0.6) then provides an outreach service for the UoM Museums & Collections Department designing and delivering STEAM focused gallery learning experiences for Dd/HH students. In 2025 both organizations' aim to build capacity and expertise in STEAM education through the employment of one candidate working at both the Victorian College of the Deaf (0.6) and the University of Melbourne (0.4). Whilst both roles are managed independently by the organizations'¿, that being 0.6 at the Victorian College for the Deaf and 0.4 at the University of Melbourne, the aim is to consider this role as a full time strategically aligned teaching role in the classroom as well as designs and delivering outreach programs for deaf and hard of hearing school students for the UoM museums and galleries.
