About the role selectability is seeking a dedicated professional to join the team as a team leader - Child & Family Care on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave.
In this role, you will lead a team of professionals, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.
Our youth residential program provides tailored care and intensive support to meet the diverse needs of children and young people.
As a team leader, you will play a critical role in guiding a team to help children and young people thrive.
Your passion for working with young people will drive your ability to mentor and support youth workers effectively.
You will ensure compliance with all relevant Child & Family Care legislation, regulations, and organisational policies, while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, families, and the young people we serve.
You will also coach and mentor senior youth workers and youth workers, focusing on addressing each child or young person's individual needs.
Additionally, you'll promote culturally safe and competent practices within the program, ensuring the best outcomes for everyone involved The team leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing the daily operations of the Child & Family Care services which includes- monitoring, managing and supporting a team of youth workers to maintain: workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, managing positive behaviour support plans, compliance checking ensuring that all team members are trained and up to date with relevant procedures and regulations providing support and guidance to employees when required reporting any concerns or incidents to the relevant manager providing exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders maintaining professional boundaries at all times maintaining accurate and up to date records and documentation facilitating team meetings, and professional development activities assisting children and young people in the development and delivery of their individual care plans and goals assisting and empowering children and young people in maintaining their environment About you To be successful you must: possess clear and effective communication skills demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management experience working in a team environment exhibit an ability to problem solve be able to follow policies and procedures at all times be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals must be available to be on call, to provide support and assistance as required travel across selectability sites is required You will also need: certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention for Residential Care or hold/studying an approved qualification that meets the Strengthening the Queensland Residential Care Workforce minimum qualifications (mandatory) a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain) hope and healing certificate (or the ability to obtain) a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain) NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain) NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' About the offer & Benefits The team leader - child and family care is a fulltime fixed term parental leave coverage position for 12 months from commencement based in Charters Towers.
