Part Time 12-month Fixed Term (0.4 FTE 14 Hours per week) opportunity for a detailed and methodic Senior Administrative Officer (Human Tissue Collection) Utilise your specialised technical skills working with Human Tissue Specimens Base Salary $99,455 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Senior Administrative Officer manages general administrative support for the designated work area, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective administrative services. They may provide guidance, advice, and support to administrative staff in the delivery of work outcomes. This position is responsible for reviewing the Pathology Collections at the University of Sydney. This position requires unique and specialised technical expertise, skills and experience working with human tissue specimens. Your key responsibilities will be to: manage general administrative services and operational support for the work area, ensuring high quality and efficient administrative support resolve complex matters and ensure appropriate, efficient action is taken for matters brought to the work area provide high level administrative coordination for the work area facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with managers to advance compliance initiatives manage allocation, access, maintenance, and cleaning of work area facilities to ensure a clean and safe working environment for everyone coordinate purchasing processes and resolve any discrepancies in payment schedule participate in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans take the lead in handling stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond champion a proactive approach to health and safety, review and provide feedback on work area protocols, and collaborate cross functionally to ensure consistent safety standards across tasks and projects About you basic working understanding of the Human Tissue Act and relevant human ethics requirements demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality when dealing with human anatomical specimens. Experience in implementing; NSW Anatomy Act 1977, NSW Human Tissue Act, 1983 and Public Health (disposal of bodies regulation), 2002 proven attention to detail, particularly in relation to collecting, processing and maintaining electronic records and datasets. ability to build networks, models collaboration and works effectively with others to encourage inclusivity and impact demonstrated negotiation and Influencing skills proven organisation and Time Management skills interacts with others clearly and effectively, using respectful verbal and nonverbal communication for the benefit of our students, staff and the communities we serve.
