The Opportunity As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education & Employment Solicitor to join our team in Brisbane. You will be part of a dynamic team with direct access to 2 Principals and have the opportunity to develop your skills across all front and back-end employment law matters. Key Responsibilities The core responsibilities of this role include: Representing employers in employment-related disputes such as unfair dismissal, discrimination and general protections claims including at conciliation conferences; Drafting and negotiating legal agreements such as employment contracts, independent contractor agreements and deeds of settlement as well as drafting and reviewing workplace policies; Responding to regulatory investigations; Assisting with workplace investigations; Providing employment law support for commercial transactions; Working with education clients providing advice on child safety and mandatory reporting obligations. Assisting with and attending marketing and business development activities; Managing client relationships and providing high-quality service to clients; Mentoring and supervising law clerks and support staff, as well as assisting with team management and; Working collaboratively with other teams in the firm. Requirements Our ideal candidate will have: 1-2 years’ post admission experience with experience across a broad range of employment law matters. Previous experience in advising clients in the education sector is desirable but not essential. A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering practical and commercially sound advice to clients. Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
