This organisation is a well-regarded aged care village located in the picturesque Barossa region. The role is based at the corporate head office in Nuriootpa, SA. This is a part-time opportunity, working 3 full days per week on a 6 Month contract.
about the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll professional to supervise and support our current Payroll Officer in delivering end-to-end payroll services for approximately 250 staff. Payroll is processed fortnightly, and the role involves ensuring compliance with complex enterprise agreements and award interpretation across a 24/7 rostered workforce.
You will be responsible for:
Overseeing and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
Coaching and guiding a junior Payroll Officer
Responding to payroll-related queries and processing corrections
Maintaining employee records and supporting system management
Interpreting current award rates and enterprise agreements
Ensuring accuracy and compliance in payroll processing
Supporting payroll audits, where required
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in end-to-end payroll
Demonstrated experience in aged care or similar 24/7 rostered environments
Proven ability to interpret modern awards and enterprise agreements
Experience handling payroll for 100–200+ employees
Knowledge of current award rates and legislative requirements
Experience in weekly or fortnightly payroll processing
Exposure to payroll audits is highly regarded
Rate: Up to $45/hour (inclusive of casual loading), depending on experience.
