The ICT Business Analyst (Financial Engineer) role involves coordinating LCH and JSCC interest rate compression cycles. This position serves as a link between client outcomes and internal developers to achieve optimum solutions in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
* Lead the elicitation, definition, prioritization, and validation of requirements and design of business processes to meet client needs.
* Continuously liaise with business users to fully understand and close out ambiguous requirements, defining 'As Is' and 'To Be' processes through analysis.
* Perform extensive Gap Analysis using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software.
The individual will manage the development of Business Process Specifications and System Functional and Non-Functional Specifications, reviewing and revising documentation in light of new or changing information. Ensuring that risks are managed in accordance with the set risk framework, this person must adhere to enterprise methodologies and processes in relation to project delivery.
* Identify and evaluate inefficiencies, recommending optimal business practices and system functionality and behavior.
* Document functional, non-functional, data, and user interface requirements in Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Systems Requirements Specifications (SRS) documents.
* Deploy functional solutions, creating test plans to ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system, and maintaining test data and scripts for future reuse and regression testing.
This role conducts User Acceptance Testing (UAT) against test cases and acceptance criteria, facilitating testing during Smoke testing, Black Box testing, and Regression testing. The individual verifies that the functionality under test matches the expected result from test-scripts.
Liaising with Developers on a regular basis about issues found during testing, attending meetings where potential solutions to defects were proposed and discussed. Liaising with the Calypso development team for system enhancements and hot fixes, developing project plans using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to cost, resource, and manage projects.
This person performs BA Peer Review Tasks and Test Case Review to complete user stories, organizes and facilitates team Demonstrations prior to go live or Retrospectives after each sprint, creates user and training documentation, and conducts formal training classes.
They set up new users, groups, permissions, user defaults, and properties in Calypso, configure new reports from Calypso to downstream systems, and corresponding Control-M config, designing a new solution for MTM posting process for FXSwaps with multiple trades under one deal through new accounting config in Calypso, resolving a long-standing Juno issue of accounting gross up.
Requirements
* A Bachelor's degree level.
* 2 – 3 years of working experience in a high-performance computing environment in the capital markets or investment banking industry, including an appreciation of various asset classes.
* Acquired knowledge of the Calypso application.
* Practical experience with UNIX, R, SAP, Oracle, VBA, AWS, APIs, REST, and SOAP.
* Experience with SQL (Database).
This position requires exceptional mathematical, engineering, and/or technical abilities, previous Clearing House Experience is preferable, skills in designing, developing, testing, implementing software, leadership & training skills, enthusiastic & co-operative, effective negotiation, communication, and time management skills, lateral thinking – ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems and to conceptualise and think creatively.
A logical approach to problem-solving and an investigative and inquisitive mind, good analytical and reporting abilities are also required.
