Job Description
With over 35 years of experience working with Defence, this is an exciting time to join Ventia. In support of the newly awarded Firefighting Services contract, we are seeking a Firefighter to join our Fire and Rescue operations at the Army Aviation Centre in Oakey, QLD.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures.
* Ensuring all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed.
* Complying with operational health and safety requirements.
Roster Cycle:
The position will require the successful applicant to work on an early/ late roster cycle:
* Early roster: Monday to Friday, 0700 – 1400.
* Late roster: Monday to Friday, 1400 – 2330.
Requirements:
* Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret).
* Australian Federal Police check.
* Ability to successfully pass an ARRFF pre-employment medical.

* PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
* PUA30613 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
* HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
* PUAFIR203B Respond to urban fire
* PUAFIR207B Operate Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit)
* PUAEQU001B Prepare, Maintain and test Response Equipment
* PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation
* PUAFIR204B Respond to Wildfire
* PAUALAW001B Protect and Preserve Incident Scene
* HLTAID003 Provide first aid
* PUAFIR309B Operate Pumps
* PUAVEH001B Drive Vehicles under operational conditions
* PUAOHS002B Maintain Safety at an Incident
* A current HR drivers' licence.
