We are seeking a qualified and experienced person to lead our finance team. The successful applicant will assist the finance and property manager in the management and control of all financial operations and maintenance of accounting records for the council, develop and implement the council's financial goals and strategies and the maintenance of council's financial software operating requirements. To be successful in this role you will need Qualifications Current driver licence Employee working with children check A tertiary qualification in accounting or equivalent, or extensive experience relevant to the position Experience Minimum three years of post-qualification relevant experience Experience in staff supervision Key selection criteria 1 Experience in preparing annual financial statements, annual budget, and management reporting Key selection criteria 2 Thorough understanding of computer systems and applications relating to financial management and reporting Key selection criteria 3 Proven ability to plan, prioritise and organise work, to meet objectives within the time-frames available Key selection criteria 4 Highly advanced spreadsheet and data manipulation and analytical skills with a high attention to detail Key selection criteria 5 Effective skills in liaison, written communication, negotiation, analytical and problem resolution Applications that fail to address the above key selection criteria will not be considered for this position.
