We are seeking a skilled Facilities Shift Operator to join our team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.
The Role:
The Facilities Shift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable & effective operation of site infrastructure, utilities, and equipment.
You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling critical power, generation, cooling, and hydraulic systems, while maintaining accurate records and completing routine inspections.
This includes technical assessment and investigation of proposed isolation and configuration changes to utilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
You will also be required to react to emergency situations and provide response to ensure site service interruptions are avoided and all critical components are operational.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Monitor and control site infrastructure and equipment
* Conduct safe configuration change and equipment isolation
* Technical assessment and documentation writing and review
* Routine equipment inspection, data collection, and metric reporting
* Conduct maintenance and repair to equipment and components
* Complete reports, incident, and event data collection
* Investigate and review system anomalies
* Lead and contribute to the development of technical processes and procedures
* Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements
Qualifications:
* Certificate III in a relevant Trade or equivalent experience and skills (US) related facilities certifications
* Applicable trades include but are not limited to: Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Mechanical
* Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship trade experience or experience as Facilities/Infrastructure Operator
* Certification & Experience in Facilities Plant Operation and Management
* Understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective)
Tickets and Licences:
* Drivers Licence (AUS)
* Certification III in a relevant Trade or equivalent experience and skills (US) related facilities certifications
* Dogger/Rigger/Crane license
Experience:
* Minimum 2 Years minimum post-trade experience as a qualified tradesperson
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
* Facilities Shift Operators should be able to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work of light to moderately heavy physicality
* Extended periods sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI
* Attention to detail and high concentration levels are required along with the ability to multi-task and perform thorough decision-making processes
