Join us at Queensland Parliament as a Parliamentary Attendant – Reception. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer-facing position, enjoys a high level of visitor interaction and undertaking a variety of tasks.
A regular day would include:
Reception Duties: Provision of reception and general enquiries service within the Parliamentary Precinct, managing the switchboard, greeting and signing in of visitors, and issuing of visitor passes.
Customer Service: Delivery of exceptional customer service and proactive sales assistance in the Parliament House Gift Shop.
Guided Tours: Conducting of informative tours of the Parliamentary Precinct as required for members of the public.
Security Support: Assisting the Parliamentary Security Service to ensure the security of the building and the personal safety of Members, staff, and visitors.
To excel in this position, you should possess:
1. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
2. Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner.
3. Sound knowledge of the parliamentary process and its history, or a willingness to learn.
4. Ability to work under pressure with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
5. High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
6. Current Working with Children Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
