The Role:
Ventia is a leading maintenance service provider supporting the Australian Defence Force. We are currently seeking experienced Drivers to carry out base mail delivery activities across bases. This role will see the successful candidates based at the RAAF Edinburgh Base as part of the Defence Maintenance and Support Services contract. This is a Temporary role offering a 5 hours a day Monday - Friday. The payrate will range from $30-$40 depending on your skills and experience.
The responsibilities of the position include:
1. Carry out Base Mail delivery activities in accordance with the relevant regional data packs and the statement of work.
2. Ensure all documentation is maintained and accurate at all times.
3. Supervise the loading and unloading of mail.
4. Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of mail and its security whilst in transit.
5. Assist with delivering food for catering department.
6. Perform other duties as required by the Operations Manager within your level of skills and competence.
Skills and experience:
7. Knowledge of mail handling protocols (preferred)
8. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
9. Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's Licence.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
