About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025. As an Education Support Teacher, you will work at Manjimup Education Support Centre (MESC), a Kindergarten to Year 12 facility that supports students with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
At MESC, we personalise learning and collaborate with families and support agencies to create pathways for vocational and independent living. Our centre has over 30 years of experience and serves 29 students with intensive staff support and small class sizes averaging seven students.
We operate as a 'school within a school', sharing the campus with Manjimup Primary and Senior High Schools. Our focus is on student abilities and fostering economic independence, well-being, and community contribution.
Your Key Responsibilities
* You will deliver a differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of each student and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential.
* You will utilise your interpersonal acumen to access a range of supports and services for your students, collaborate with parents, and coordinate this to align to the individual educational programs you deliver.
* You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school's values, ethos, and priorities across the school community.

Eligibility
* You must hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* You must apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
* You must consent to and obtain a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
