About this role
The Environmental Service Worker is responsible for kitchen, dining room, and may be required to assist in laundry and cleaning duties. This role is team-oriented, supporting one another. You will be assisting in the preparation and serving of food to our residents. The hours required are Wednesday – Sunday, from 9:30am to 5:30pm on a 75 hour per fortnight roster.
In this varied role, your day-to-day responsibilities could include:
1. Assisting in the preparation of meals to residents both in the dining room and tray service to their rooms;
2. Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, and equipment throughout the shift;
3. Setting up and cleaning the dining room before and after serving foods;
4. Maintaining food hygiene and safety practices according to legislation;
5. Covering staff leave at short notice;
6. Cooking experience or willingness to step up highly desirable;
7. Customer focus.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and reliable worker who is committed to providing excellent customer service to our residents. You are someone who is passionate about cooking and working within a kitchen and understands the importance of keeping a clean workspace in a fast-paced environment.
Ideally, you will have:
1. Certificate II in Kitchen Operations, Cookery or similar (desirable);
2. Experience working within a kitchen and serving meals;
3. Experience working within the Aged Care industry (desirable);
4. Experience within a multi-disciplinary team environment (desirable).
Possess or willingness to obtain:
1. Current National Police Certificate;
