ResponsibilitiesYou will participate in risk assessments of current and proposed work practices and operations.Complete Take 5's, Safety Observations and Hazard reports as required. Fulfill JSA's for required tasks in accordance with Company policies.You shall carry out scheduled and unscheduled servicing and repairs, including Long Term Maintenance of Prime Movers, Tankers, Light Vehicles and/or Plant and Machinery as directed on both company and external customer vehicles.Furthermore, you will carry out routine and specialist diagnosis of vehicle/plant failures and implement resolutions. Investigate and report all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards identified in the work environment.Your responsibility also includes responding to and managing unplanned breakdowns and mechanical failures, ensuring all breakdown and service related paperwork is completed and submitted to supervisors on completion of works.You will participate in routine administrative matters (team meetings, communications, planning, and Tool Box sessions).Identify and/or make recommendations or implement opportunities to continuously improve workshop operations.What makes you greatYou hold a relevant trade qualification - Heavy Duty Mechanic (essential).Car Licence (essential), HR Licence (desirable), MC Licence (desirable).Dangerous Goods Licence, Forklift High Risk Licence, and Working at Heights are desirable.Confined Space Training / Competency is desirable.You possess current knowledge of the industry sector and working practices of heavy-duty plant/vehicle maintenance and repair.Why you will love working with usAt Elgas, we identify ourselves with our products – either working for the technical or medical gases business.
