Job Opportunities The Town of Grafton is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Grafton Local Building Inspector.
This role involves a combination of administrative, technical, and field inspection responsibilities focused on upholding the Massachusetts State Building Code, Grafton Zoning Bylaws, and other relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and approve plans and building permit applications.
Conduct inspections of ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with national, state, and local building codes as well as Grafton Zoning Bylaws.
Issue certificates of inspection, stop work orders, and investigate complaints related to building code and zoning violations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in construction management, design, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
Alternatively, candidates with a master craftsman-level of building construction trades knowledge and a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in building construction or design will also be considered.
Candidates must hold a valid MA Construction Supervisor License and Local Inspector Certification.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative professional who can effectively engage with diverse stakeholders such as design professionals, contractors, residents, department heads, staff, and local officials.
This is a 35-hour per week position with a salary range of $57,930.00 to $70,616 DOQ.
