We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant for an immediate start to join our clients company. This is a fully onsite role offered on a contract basis, with the potential to transition to a full-time position. Key Responsibilities Include:
* Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the processing of invoices and payments.
* Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices across branches.
* Cash Flow Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report cash flow to ensure financial health.
* Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts and credit cards.
* GST, PAYG Duties: Handle lodgements and compliance related to GST and PAYG.
* PPE and Supplies Maintenance: Oversee the management of company PPE and other essential supplies.
* Payroll Tax Returns: Prepare and submit monthly payroll tax returns.
* GL Reconciliations, Journals, and Accruals: Maintain accurate records with reconciliations and journal entries.
* End of Month Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports for multiple branches.
* Annual Reporting: Assist with annual reporting for Payroll Tax, Workcover, and PAYG.
* Payroll Officer Backup: Step in to handle payroll tasks as needed.
* Liaising with Company Accountant: Work closely with the company accountant for financial reporting.
* Bank Manager Liaison: Assist with finance-related matters and organize financial reports.
Qualification and skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Desireable)
* 1-2 years of experience in a similar role preferred
* Strong understanding of accounting principles
* Proficient in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
