We're looking for an exceptional Senior Investigator with a background in regulatory and criminal investigation to work with our MAIR Investigation Team. About the team: The MAIR Investigation Team is responsible for conducting investigating into offences against the compulsory third party scheme. We're determined to be a formidable regulator, driving positive change in behaviour, and ensuring strict compliance across the scheme. About the role: The Senior Investigator provides oversight to our MAIR Investigation Team under the umbrella of Investigations and Enforcement at the State Insurance Regulatory Authority. Your supervision will guide and inspire our team as they conduct major, complex investigations, inspections, and targeted operations to uphold and strengthen compliance with SIRA's relevant legislation. In this role, you will: -Prepare and undertake complex compliance and investigation activities, delivering risk-based regulatory programs to enhance compliance. -Undertake proactive compliance operations to stay ahead of potential issues. -Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders, maximizing regulatory outcomes and minimizing negative impacts on SIRA-regulated schemes. -Stay up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, setting a standard of exemplary regulatory practice for the NSW community. -Gather, review, and maintain accurate records, documents, submissions, and reports, recommending appropriate actions to decision-makers while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. -Deliver innovative regulatory services, working tirelessly to protect the NSW community. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: -Certificate IV (Government) Investigations or similar qualification. -Significant experience in conducting high-quality complex investigations into fraud and/or industry misconduct, with a keen eye for operational risks. -A track record of successfully conducting investigations and inspections, gathering evidence, and preparing prosecution briefs. -Good knowledge of criminal law, rules of evidence, criminal procedures, and administrative law. -Familiarity with electronic Investigation Case Management Systems, enhancing your efficiency and effectiveness. -Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effortlessly engage with internal and external stakeholders. -A collaborative team player, adept at initiating, building, and maintaining productive working relationships.
