The Company Our client is currently looking to recruit a Director of Operations that will oversee all local and overseas supply chain & operations.This includes, but is not limited to, production, maintenance, capital engineering, safety, warehouse & 3PL logistics, including managing relationships with providers.This role is a strategic hire to help develop culture and build capability across the operations group to support the future growth of the organisation.The Role Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for: Support and lead an operations-based team across supply chain & logistics, planning, safety, production, engineering & maintenance, warehouse & logistics to achieve/exceed KPI's and deliver on productivity targets and operational improvement.Developing and implementing world-class operations systems and provide training, support and ensure compliance to systems.Project management of new product introductions in coordination with the Innovation department and other stakeholders.Build relationships and have thorough oversight with all third-party providers and locations.Educate, coach, and facilitate operational expectations, lead change initiatives through the leadership team to deliver on all operational KPIs.Develop, implement, and maintain operations systems, training programs, ensuring staff structures and labour plans are optimised and meet the needs of the business.Develop and implement improvement plans for the operation, incorporating but not limited to LEAN principles.Develop, implement, manage, and report on metrics (KPI's) as well as instilling understanding of metrics across the operations group to develop a performance-based culture.Creation of work instructions and training matrix systems, leading training programs and building a highly capable operations team.Support and participate in the successful delivery of change programs which could include capital/technology into manufacturing, integration of operations and supply chain of a newly acquired business, new systems, etc.whilst managing internal and external stakeholders. Your Background Operations leadership experience, responsible for leading operations teams in a manufacturing environment.Experience in technical, quality-driven environments will be highly desirable.Proven experience in developing and building strong leadership groups within a manufacturing plant leading to positive change.Must have the ability and track record of being able to see the bigger picture and step away from the day-to-day to deliver the longer-term strategic vision.Those with experience managing a multi-site operation will be looked at favourably.Lead the development and improvement of the culture across operations, ensuring you promote positive behaviours across the operations group.Strong continuous improvement background with a good grasp of sophisticated continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN / Six Sigma and 5Y problem-solving tools.Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances with the ability to identify the key cost drivers in a technical food-grade plant.Collaborative in their style, inclusive in making decisions and ability to demonstrate and align with organisations values based around respect and accountability.Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders.
