Burling Brown is a leading perpetual Architectural Firm on the Gold Coast practicing in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Master Planning, Urban Design and Interior Design. Burling Brown actively works across diverse project scales and in multiple industry sectors, with specialities in education, commercial and tourism work. Our evolving studio is seeking a highly motivated Lead Architect / Contract Administrator to join our team.
Location: 17 Short Street, Southport, Qld, 4215
Position: Full Time (Office Based Work)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
* Client interaction and collaboration
* Project leadership and management
* Team Supervisor and Mentor
* Construction oversight and quality control in accordance with documentation and specifications
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and technical
* Co-ordination of Local Authority approvals and relevant development conditions
* Collaboration with design and technical teams
* Innovation and problem-solving
* Contract negotiation and management
* Scope and change management
* Budget, cost control and project timeframe management
* Contract compliance
* Reporting
* Site Meetings, inspections and supervision
* Document control
* Final handover and defects inspections
Qualifications:
* A degree in Project Management or degree in Architecture
* Is an AIA Registered Architect (this is not a pre-requisite but is advantageous)
* Proven Track Record in Commercial and/or Educational projects as Contract Administrator
Key Skillset:
* Able to deal with conflict resolution in a professional environment
* Multitasks efficiently on a range of projects and deadlines
* Confidence to work independently and collectively, with a high attention to detail across multiple projects
* Ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project
* Strong ability to co-ordinate and review shop drawings and construction submittals
* Assessment and issue of variations, contract sum adjustments, progress claims and extension of time claims
* Legal and contract knowledge over a variety of construction contracts
* Strong knowledge in NCC and Australian Standards
* Experience across full project life cycle; vision and feasibility through to construction and delivery
* Experience in site supervision and contract administration
* Co-ordination with professional consultants
* Proficiency with 3D CAD such as ArchiCAD is not a pre-requisite but is advantageous
* Preferred Apple Mac Operating System experience
