Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Tech Lead leads the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers. They are the “go to” person for technical matters within their respective product area, so will be competent within the relevant technical domains. To deeply understand user pain points and viability of solutions, the Tech Lead additionally participates actively in continuous Product Discovery, conducting customer research, interviewing, and running experiments. They work closely with the PM and Designer to look forward and select the highest value opportunities that align with the team’s mission. Lastly, a Tech Lead helps define and champion best technical practices within the Epsilon Retail Media Team, coaching other Engineers as appropriate. This is a hands-on delivery role, with responsibilities in writing code to build solutions, mentoring, and participating in Product Discovery.What You’ll AchieveDeliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions, that are tested for correctness and have validated customer demand, with considerations for rollout strategy and production support.Collaborate with the Product Trio to participate in customer interviews and research, discover innovative solutions that align with team and business goals, and design experiments that validate assumptions, and collect meaningful data for making decisions.Write and review code, design documents, and technical documentation.Champion best practices in software engineering, including architecture and code quality standards.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team, including education around best practices and industry standards in engineering.Communicate progress and learnings regularly to the broader organisation, and incorporate feedback.Foster a positive team culture, and respond to feedback.Who You AreWhat you’ll bring with you :Strong history of front-end development in modern frameworks, particularly React.Experience with analytics tools such as Amplitude or Mixpanel preferred.History of consistently delivering high-quality projects, with pragmatic design choices that balance technical debt with delivery speed.Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with stakeholders outside of engineering (e.g. PMs, designers).Experience making architecture decisions on software projects.Experience designing and delivering a project, from conception through to delivery.Experience working in customer-focused product teams, designing experiments and using customer data to inform product technical decisions.Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes and GCP, other cloud providers is a positive.Experience with PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS are a positive.Strong technical documentation skills.A level of familiarity with backend code required.
