Senior Policy and Project Officer Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation) Fixed term: Until 30 June 2026 Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The Role Reporting to the Manager, Regional Package, the Senior Policy and Project Officer will work closely with colleagues across Regional Development Victoria (RDV), Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), other government departments and with regional stakeholders and communities to support regional economic policy and the coordination and delivery of government projects and programs in regional Victoria. A key part of this role will be supporting delivery of the Victorian Government's investment in regional programs and projects including permanent new and upgraded infrastructure projects, the Regional Worker Accommodation Fund, Regional Community Sport Development Fund, All Abilities Sport Fund, Council Support Package, Regional Tourism Marketing, Aboriginal Economic Development Fund and Tiny Towns. Key accountabilities include: Manage and/ or undertake analysis, develop policy responses, and provide high quality advice to Ministers and department senior executives. Contribute to the establishment and management of governance arrangements, policy and processes regarding the design, coordination, delivery and legacy of key regional investments. Proactively manage the preparation and review of complex briefs, reports and correspondence that demonstrate a detailed understanding of the regional policy context, often within tight timelines. The Team The position of Senior Policy and Project Officer forms a part of the Place based Strategy, Insights and Coordination branch within the Regional Development Victoria group. The group works with businesses, communities and across government to deliver economic growth, create jobs, build resilience, and support economic recovery in our regions. The branch delivers the evidence base and policy platform to influence regional economic outcomes across government and support high quality program delivery in partnership with RDV and other groups and departments.
