Based in Melbourne's northern suburbs, this esteemed company has been a cornerstone of the building materials industry for over a century.Your new role As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play an integral role within the company, to ensure that maintenance activities are being performed efficiently, whilst the standard working protocols and processes are being adhered to. This will include the below duties, but not limited to: Provide technical backup and support for maintenance staff Assist in carrying out internal audits as required Assist in the development and training of maintenance personnel, to maximise their output and productivity Plan for efficient major maintenance work with minimum downtime in operation, to improve product changeover times Arrange employee scheduling so that maintenance systems can continue to operate Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance activities Liaise with the Plant Manager and Production Clerk to ensure maintenance budgets are adhered to Establish and maintain an effective preventative maintenance system, ensuring there is minimal downtime and interruptions to production Liaise with Engineering Manager and Electrical Supervisor to ensure that machinery, manuals and programmes are up-to-date What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you must have demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role, demonstrate strong management skills and develop a team in a similar manufacturing environment (FMCG, Industrial, etc.) Having a background of being a Maintenance Fitter will be highly regarded. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Electricians Licence (A Grade) Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skills Discernment and perceptiveness Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Effective communication & interpersonal skills Technical knowledge of building material manufacturing is preferred but not essential A strong ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specifications What you'll get in return This role not only offers a stable and rewarding career but also provides a platform for continuous learning and professional development.
