As a Senior Planning Officer, you'll play a vital role in shaping infrastructure strategies to meet the needs of growing communities across the state. This position is your chance to contribute to innovative planning initiatives that ensure communities have access to world-class facilities, now and into the future.Working within the Project Planning team, you will support the development of infrastructure strategies, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, and prepare critical insights that inform decision-making.The role reports to the Project Director, Project Planning, and works closely with colleagues and Managers across Project Planning to support the delivery of significant outcomes.Your Role and AccountabilitiesAppointment to this role is merit-based and will be assessed by evaluating your previous accomplishments—the knowledge, skills, and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities. Specific responsibilities will include, though are not limited to:Infrastructure Planning Support: Support the development and delivery of infrastructure strategies, with a particular focus on new facilities, renewals, and population growth.Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal stakeholders and support and attend regular team and project meetings as required, to inform and support delivery of practical infrastructure solutions.Data Analysis, Presentation, and Reporting: Prepare papers, briefing notes, presentations, and comprehensive reports on infrastructure planning issues, ensuring insights are evidence-based and actionable.Project Tracking: Conduct accurate monitoring of key project metrics and key performance indicators, ensuring integrity of the information (as a source of truth) and timely updates to support transparency, early issues and risk identification, and informed decision-making.Governance and Compliance: Ensure that all planning activities comply with organisational policies, governance frameworks, and risk management protocols.Quality Assurance: Work with the team to ensure that project deliverables meet required quality standards and that processes are followed to maintain consistency and reliability across the project lifecycle.Document Control and Management: Support the team to ensure that all project documentation is accurately tracked, stored, and easily accessible, adhering to governance and compliance standards.Continuous Improvement: Identify, recommend, and support ongoing enhancements and standardisation to planning tools, processes, systems, guidelines, and procedures.
