Is this your next career opportunity? Directly accountable to the Finance Operations Manager, the Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Finance team and the broader organisation by ensuring the smooth operation of the key financial services and outputs.
The role involves resolving payroll and accounting issues, undertaking general ledger reconciliations, providing detailed variance analysis of operating statement and balance sheet movements and ad hoc activities when required.
Deliver accurate financial reporting by tracking performance against targets, including variance analysis across P&L, Balance Sheet, and KPIs.Provide financial insights to internal stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making and organisational goals.Assist with the annual audit process with external auditors, providing the necessary financial data and documentation.Process month-end journals, including reviewing allocated general ledger accounts/business areas and posting relevant accruals, prepayments, and cost allocation as required.Maintain and reconcile assigned Balance Sheet accounts and Revenue reconciliations on a monthly basis.Assist Finance Operations Manager in the administration of Banking, Payroll and Accounting systems in line with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.Collaborate with HR and external Payroll provider to validate payroll information.Manage BAS, Payroll Tax, PAYG instalment, Superannuation, Workers Compensation, FBT and GST Reporting, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.What we're looking for: Tertiary degree in Accounting and CPA qualified.3 years + experience in Financial Accounting and some exposure to Management Accounting.Intermediate to advanced in MS Excel, Power BI and other modern accounting software.Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Proven ability to manage time effectively to set and meet deadlines, work effectively under pressure, and prioritise tasks.Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.Ability to work independently and autonomously without supervision as part of a broader team.Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to listen and act as the trusted partner.Join our team to contribute to our life-changing work.
