This is where you come in…The Counsellor and Facilitator is responsible for providing comprehensive support to perpetrators of FDV through assessment, individual intervention and group work, using both the traditional behaviour change model and 'Caring Dads'.
Providing direct line management and supervision to a Co-Facilitator and Victim Engagement Worker, you'll have the opportunity to lead and inspire, ensuring the delivery of a person-centred, high-quality service.
Strong relationship building skills are essential, as you will act as the primary contact for relevant stakeholders, engaging with staff members, organisation and the wider community.This is a full time, maximum term contract for 2 years and is based in Albany.
Candidates must be willing and available for twice weekly evening group sessions.Desired Skills and ExperienceTo achieve success in this role you will have:Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or Counselling and significant industry experience with specialist knowledge relevant to the positionSkills and experience in group facilitationKnowledge of the impact of family violence on adult victims, children, young people and communities.Working knowledge and ability to work with current state/federal minimum standards when working with victims and perpetrators.Knowledge and experience of intervention models appropriate to working with FDV perpetrators, such as the Duluth Abuse Intervention Program, David Mandel's Safe and Together Model, amongst othersExperience working in culturally safe and responsive ways with clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgroundsExcellent written, oral and interpersonal communicationExcellent assessment and clinical report writing skillsKnowledge of current theory, practice and issues related to family and domestic violence and trauma and impact on familiesThe successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.Salary and BenefitsFull time salary range per annum of $104,988 - $109,621 plus 11.5% superannuationGenerous tax-free salary packaging benefitsAdditional 3 days leave over Christmas periodTo be considered, applications must include a current detailed resume and covering letter.
