The Role
Are you an experienced Logistics Officer looking for an opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic and evolving domain? Joint Capabilities Group has an opportunity for you to utilise your skills to contribute to radiation safety within Joint Logistics Command.
As the Radiation Safety Logistics Manager you’ll work with an innovative team to manage Defence’s inventory of controlled radiation sources and develop logistics policy, processes and procedures to continually improve the quality of data management and reporting.
This is a diverse role that provides opportunities for national travel to visit Defence bases across the country and regular interactions with the Commonwealth Regulator. The successful candidate will benefit from specific training that is tailored to the job as well as other development opportunities. All relevant radiation safety training will be provided to the successful applicant.
About our Team
The Directorate of Defence Radiation Safety and Assurance is a small team located within Logistics Assurance Branch.
The team is responsible for radiation safety policy across the whole of Defence, but also has a direct responsibility for radiation safety management within Joint Logistics Command.
The team is motivated, and enjoys a high level of autonomy.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic self-starter who has experience working with a Logistics Inventory Management System (MILIS/SAP/ERP), and highly developed skills in Word and Excel.
Experience working in either a regulatory or compliance framework, and an understanding of radiation safety or work health and safety management systems would be highly regarded as would good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to analyse problems and develop effective solutions.
The position would suit either a military logistics specialist keen to transfer their skills into a Defence civilian role, or a civilian logistician wishing to work in a military logistics environment.
