BRHS has an exciting opportunity to join our Registrar training program and gain significant skills and experience in a regional location.
The BRHS Emergency Department (ED): ED SMOs (FACEM, FACRRM and CMOs) provide 24/7 trauma and emergency healthcare to the East Gippsland region. The ED has 8 acute cubicles plus a treatment room, plaster room, behavioural assessment room, a fast-track room, and a 5-bed short-stay unit. ED SMOs staff the department from 0800 to 2400 every day and provide on-call support overnight. Additional support in Anaesthetics and Obstetrics is provided by GP VMOs.
The role:
This role offers a great opportunity to complete your training supported by a team of highly skilled emergency consultants. You will benefit from exposure to a broad variety of patient presentations including emergency paediatrics. The role is accredited for advanced skills with both general practice college (RACGP and ACRRM) with high exam success rates. BRHS provides weekly emergency medicine education, and supports registrars completing the ACEM Emergency Certificate or Emergency Diploma. All applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent)
2. General Registration or eligible for Provisional Registration.
3. (minimum AHPRA level 3 supervision for IMGs & if requested a PESCI pass).
4. If international candidate, Registration with the Medical Board of Australia is required prior commencement
5. Minimum 4 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including extensive experience in Emergency Medicine setting.
6. AMC parts 1 & 2 passed.
7. Competence in advanced life support techniques.
