Wood CNC Machinist
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
* Ensure all machined components are delivered to subsequent cells according to set buffers, maintaining a synchronised workflow. This contributes to achieving our lead times on time and in full, with a target of over 96% accuracy on plans. Performance will be tracked using Daily Buffer Logs and Daily Cutting Sheet Logs.
Necessary Conditions:
1. Prioritise safety, including housekeeping at CNC machining stations.
2. Achieve productivity growth by meeting KPIs of 30m² per day for solid materials and 10m² per day for timber first-round cutting.
3. Contribute to continuous improvement in quality processes, aiming for zero errors.
4. Optimise processes to maximise material yield.
5. Maintain CNC equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
6. Assist in cross-training team members on equipment used for secondary machining needs (e.g., crates and sample manufacture).
7. Foster a team culture that values accuracy and customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality products on time.
Daily Critical Operating Tasks:
* Program CNC files for machining.
* Participate in daily production buffer (status) meetings.
* Operate CNC machinery independently.
* Maintain excellent presentation of self, tools, and work area.
* Identify and suggest improvements to systems or processes.
* Handle materials and equipment manually.
* Clean the work area and perform equipment maintenance as needed.
Ideal Attributes:
* 3-5 years of experience in timber-based CNC operation.
* Wood machining qualifications are highly regarded.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to read and understand plans and shop drawings.
* Excellent task prioritisation and multitasking skills.
* The ability to work effectively within a team at all organisational levels.

* Promptly report any health and safety concerns, including risks, hazards, and injuries, to your line manager.
