Job Title: Chef
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Griller's Mark, a vibrant cafe and burger bar in Ballarat Central, Victoria.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality, flavorful meals in a casual yet welcoming environment. As a key member of our kitchen team, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking a diverse range of grilled dishes that cater to our loyal customers.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and create menus, accurately estimate food and labour expenses, and source required ingredients and supplies.
* Maintain high standards of quality throughout all food preparation and presentation stages.
* Work closely with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and front-of-house staff to address any issues related to food preparation.
* Demonstrate cooking methods, ensuring all culinary processes are followed.
* Prepare and cook various dishes with a focus on traditional cuisine.
* Enforce comprehensive hygiene and safety protocols to meet industry standards.
* Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen personnel.
* Oversee the proper freezing, storage, and preservation of food to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
* Monitor portion sizes and control food wastage to maximise kitchen efficiency.
* Track kitchen inventory and manage stock to ensure timely replenishment of ingredients.
Qualifications:
* Minimum two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar setting.
* Hold a Diploma in Hospitality Management or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
