Full time Salary: $105,921 to $119,801 pro-rata per annum + super Game Services Tasmania is seeking a Senior Wildlife Management Officer to join a small, specialised team permanently. You'll play an important role in researching and providing advice on strategies to manage the impacts of browsing wildlife on Tasmania's primary production industries. Some of the core duties include: Implement and deliver the 2022-2027 wild deer management plan and strategy. Draft policy, reports, guidelines, procedures, fact sheets, ministerial correspondence and other forms of communication. Procure specialist services and manage associated contracts. Develop wildlife monitoring programs to support informed decision making. Liaise with a range of stakeholders, including property owners, government agencies and conservation programs. Provide extension and policy advice to inform assessments of permit applications. Minimum Requirements: Highly developed writing skills. Knowledge of the legislation and statutory requirements relating to game species and wildlife management. Experience in contemporary wildlife and natural resource management. Environmental science, program management, or ecology experience will be highly valued. Excellent liaison, communication and negotiation skills.
