QA Inspection – Chemical Lab - International PlacementsAs the Sovereign Submarine Sustainment Partner, ASC will play an incredibly important role to meet the requirements of the first phase of the SSN Optimal Pathway.We have opportunities for skilled workers in QA Inspection – Chemical Lab. The opportunity will see you undertake world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for over 12 months setting you up for a secure career back home in the nuclear-powered submarine program.At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines. Successful candidates will deploy May 2025.RESPONSIBILITIESServe as an analytical specialist in one or more areas of chemical analysis.Plan, coordinate, direct, schedule, and implement tests and conduct projects.Provide chemical technical advice to, and work in close coordination with, nuclear power engineers, radiological control personnel, environmental protection specialists, environmental engineers, and other relevant stakeholders.Research and develop specifications for the purchase of new analytical lab equipment to economically expand laboratory capabilities.Continuously and constantly improve work processes and utilise manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently.Ensure that expenditures remain within approved program budget levels, maintaining maximum efficiency and economy.You will be immersed into the United States Navy processes and procedures whilst working on the Virginia Class systems in Pearl Harbor, or other US locations. You will also undertake a combination of instructor-led classroom-based training and on-the-job learning.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAProfessional laboratory experience with a variety of instruments/samples in order to provide the level of authoritative responses and complex analytical solutions required at this level of expertise.Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a physical science (Chemistry or Materials).Professional knowledge of chemical principles, theories, practices, and methodology.Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.Must be an Australian Citizen.This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
