The Role
As a Major Projects Coordinator, you will be responsible for achieving the timely programming, delivery and completion of City of Ballarat’s major capital projects in line with City of Ballarat plans, policies, priorities and programs.
You will provide strategic advice, resource planning, contract management, project management and tender oversight in relation to the delivery of capital projects to a team of Project Managers and Project Officers.

* Ballarat Central Library Redevelopment
* Lake Wendouree and Victoria Park Link Lighting
You will be an accomplished communicator, honest and transparent, diplomatic with a strong desire to deliver well considered and balanced outcomes on behalf of the community.
You will be a people leader with significant experience in coaching, developing, managing, motivating, and guiding a team to excel while embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
You’ll play a key role in the project initiation and planning phase setting the project up for success.
Monitoring team performance, ensuring project outcomes, risk mitigation and financial performance, navigating through contractual obligations and monitoring OH&S requirements and performance.
With experience in reporting and engaging with diverse stakeholders—including Councillors, staff, government departments, funding agencies, community, consultants and contractors—you will convey critical information and insights to support strategic decision-making, fostering transparency and instilling trust throughout the organisation.
You will have Tertiary qualifications in Architecture or Building Design, Project Management, or equivalent, or extensive and demonstrable technical expertise and experience in all aspects of leadership, project management, community infrastructure delivery, contract management and procurement.
