Job Description
Our Risk Consulting and Internal Audit team collaborates with clients across a wide range of industries and sectors, including several purpose-driven entities. We are committed to providing excellence in enterprise and technology risk management, internal audit, program assurance, and control transformation services.
Risk Consulting is a growing business that focuses on helping our clients understand, manage, and oversee their risks, including conduct and regulatory changes.
Your Opportunity
As part of the Risk Consulting and Internal Audit practise in Adelaide, you will work with Boards and Executive Management to help them navigate business risks and achieve their strategic and operational priorities. Our team engages with clients at all levels (from Board down) and in every facet of their business—from internal audit and managing daily technology and operational risks to handling strategic risks and controlling risks on multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects. Our clientele spans utilities, education, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure, financial services, and resource sectors.
Role Responsibilities
* Collaborate with junior staff and management to support the overall scoping, execution, and delivery of various enterprise and technology risk consulting projects as well as internal audit initiatives.
* Manage a portfolio of clients across our enterprise, technology risk consulting, and internal audit business.
* Be part of a leading team advising high-profile clients on operational and strategic initiatives focusing on risk management, governance, process review and controls, and technology risks.
* Lead various internal audit and risk consulting projects across disciplines like technology, procurement, safety, financial controls, governance, and operations.
* Oversee teams during client engagements, maintaining strong relationships throughout and beyond the engagement period.
* Provide technical knowledge, direction, coaching, and training to colleagues through day-to-day management of teams.
* Be involved in and lead go-to-market initiatives and business development, targeting clients and markets that interest you.
How are you extraordinary?
* You have a people-focused approach, sharing your risk and internal audit insights and tailoring your communication for both subject matter experts and clients eager to learn more.
* You excel at combining strong analytical skills with excellent technical communication, enabling you to write detailed and accurate reports.
* You are attuned to business development opportunities and confident in creating effective sales materials, including proposals, case studies, and other sector-specific content.
Your Experience
At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background, and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, clients, and communities.
To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills, & experience could include:
* Senior Consultant experience with an interest in and/or understanding of Internal Audit or Enterprise and/or Technology Risk Consulting.
* Experience working across a portfolio of clients, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Recent experience in an audit or risk-related role with a strong understanding of governance, risk, and controls, and an ability to think strategically.
Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification (ideally in commerce, accounting, law, or IT—double degrees with engineering are of specific interest), and post-grad qualifications such as CIA/CPA/CA will be viewed favourably. Understanding global IT governance frameworks and standards such as COBIT, ITIL, and PCAOB Auditing Standards is also advantageous.
* We are also open to considering individuals with backgrounds in engineering, project management, change management, data analytics, and journalism.
