The Role:
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dynamic clinical leader to join the West Coast District Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Consultant. In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical leadership and support in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Director of Nursing, focusing on coordinating top-notch nursing and support services for inpatients and emergency presentations. You will also spearhead the development, implementation, and evaluation of care improvement initiatives to ensure outstanding service delivery.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a deep understanding of rural health nursing and a passion for enhancing patient care. Your role will involve fostering a culture of critical thinking, research, and continuous improvement. You will support the NUM in administrative and service delivery planning and drive innovative initiatives in quality safety programs and clinical practice standards.
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building strong working relationships with staff and the community. Your ability to inspire, influence, and deliver clear messages will help ensure cohesive teamwork and high standards of care. Ideally, you will hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and have experience in Emergency Nursing.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from March 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
* Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Minimum Requirements:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
* Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
