Your responsibilities will include:
Assist in the precise and efficient conduct of the teaching laboratories which includes the preparation of solutions, materials and equipment as per set-up protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.Assist in delivering high quality practical classes by setting up and clearing materials for scheduled experimental classes.Maintain a clean, organised, and well-functioning teaching lab, ensuring that all equipment, including digital tools and devices, are properly set up.Ensure compliance with the relevant teaching laboratory OHS and EHS standards, including but not limited to Risk Assessments (RAs) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the requirements of an OGTR certified PC2 Laboratory.Who We Are Looking For
We're looking for people who demonstrate a commitment to high-quality work, strong attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, learning, and teamwork in a laboratory environment.
You will also have:
A degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training.Fundamental knowledge of Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology, and Molecular Biology, with familiarity in laboratory techniques and safety practices.Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and relate effectively to people at all levels.Proficiency in using software for data acquisition and analysis across macOS and Windows platforms, and a commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).Requirements
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
