The General Manager – Commercial Operations (GM-CO) plays a key role in the AHA(Vic) Leadership Team, driving strategic and operational objectives through identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships that benefit AHA(Vic), its members, and partners.
This senior position requires excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and experience in developing and managing commercial partnerships with a proven track record of revenue growth through strategic alliances and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities – Revenue Growth
1. Develop and execute a strategy to grow AHA(Vic) revenues by nurturing existing commercial partnerships and pursuing new revenue opportunities that benefit both AHA(Vic) members and commercial partners.
2. Collaborate with the CEO to set annual revenue generation targets and provide regular analysis and reporting of results against these targets.
3. Foster strong relationships with existing and potential commercial partners, highlighting the benefits of partnering with AHA(Vic).
4. Negotiate partnership agreements and sponsorship packages that deliver tangible benefits to AHA(Vic) members.
5. Identify potential commercial risks and challenges, and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
6. Work closely with the AHA(Vic) marketing team to develop marketing and promotional campaigns supporting commercial partnership and sponsorship programs.
7. Ensure alignment and integration of partnership and sponsorship programs with other activities and initiatives within AHA(Vic).
8. Pursue opportunities to leverage AHA(Vic) commercial partnerships to address member needs and provide competitive advantage in the hospitality market.
9. Collaborate with AHA Branches across Australia to advance the commercial operations function.
10. Represent AHA(Vic) at external events and conferences to promote business, partnership, and sponsorship opportunities.
Reporting and Governance
1. Prepare reports for the AHA(Vic) CEO, Board, and Council detailing the performance of the commercial operations function against agreed objectives.
2. Attend AHA(Vic) Board meetings as required, and Council Meetings to report on commercial operations activity and performance.
3. Participate actively in the Board, Council, and Leadership Team.
4. Receive assigned responsibilities from the CEO on emerging commercial and operating tasks.
