We pride ourselves in providing exceptional client service, innovation and expertise in payroll, salary packaging plus novated leasing.Due to the upcoming maternity leave of our current accountant, we have a 12-month position to fill for a qualified accountant/finance manager specialising in payroll and salary packaging. Job Overview As an Accountant specialising in payroll and salary packaging, you will be responsible for leading a team and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance. You will lead and manage the team to deliver accurate payroll services including salary packaging, plus ensure all accounting tasks are completed. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical payroll skills, tax knowledge, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing: Oversee and execute accurate payroll processing for customers, including salary packaging deductions, benefits, and tax compliance.Reconciliation: Perform weekly reconciliation of accounts, plus ensure all invoices have been correctly created and sent, all STP have been reported and paid, all bank feeds have been completed and ensure accuracy in all transactions.Debt Collection: Perform weekly debtors review and contact any late payers. Monthly: Oversee the processing and payment of superannuation. Review the lodgment of the monthly BAS. Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation and lodgment of payroll tax. Tax Compliance: Stay updated on tax legislation and compliance requirements related to payroll and salary packaging; ensure adherence to ATO guidelines.Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency improvement within payroll and salary packaging processes and implement streamlined solutions.Customer Support: Provide support to clients with payroll and salary packaging inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively. Reporting: Provide monthly management reports, including gross profit report. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll accounting, with a focus on salary packaging or similar financial benefits.Proficiency in payroll software, Astute payroll would be highly desirable. Advanced Microsoft Excel; knowledge of salary packaging regulations and tax compliance.Excellent communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills; ability to work independently and in a team, ability to lead and manage a team.
