You will be setting up, managing, and supporting end-to-end Information & Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities and services within the Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES) program. MTTES supplies Electronic Warfare (EW) Training Range services to the ADF in the Western Training Area (QLD), Delamere Air Weapons Range (NT), and other deployed locations.
Specific tasks and responsibilities include:
4. Support operations and help ensure capability is maintained and delivered in line with program objectives.
5. Provide technical consultancy to achieve effective implementation of server hardware, networking and system software including virtualised infrastructures.
6. Ensure the provisioning, upgrades, patching and maintenance of server environments including virtualisation infrastructure.
7. Participate in a 2nd line incident response capability for infrastructure system operational issues. Establish strong processes in line with industry standards.
8. As directed, liaise with project and technical teams to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure solutions in the field.
9. Ensure compliance to engineering change control, Department of Defence standard security procedures and methodologies.
10. This role requires regular travel to Amberley, Toowoomba, Delamere NT and various other locations to support operations and maintenance activities.
The Person
11. Advanced knowledge of server operating systems; Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Server along with Microsoft Active Directory.
12. Proven experience in the support of server and desktop operating systems, and Active Directory along with strong understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
13. Experience adhering to Department of Defence security and global export / import standards is favourable.
14. Experience managing and supporting Cisco, Juniper, or other equivalent enterprise networking technology.
15. Relevant degree in IT or industry standard accreditations such as Microsoft MCSE and VMware certified, or relevant equivalent experience.
16. Applicants must able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 2 level. Eligibility can be found at
