Rate: AU$78,021 - AU$115,737 per annum + super
About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology and Junior Science Teacher to join a co-educational secondary school in Melbourne. This ongoing role, commencing in Term 1, offers the opportunity to inspire students in both Psychology and Science. The ideal candidate is an engaging educator who fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
Key Duties:
1. Teaching & Learning: Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Psychology and Junior Science, catering to diverse student abilities.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practices.
3. Student Engagement: Inspire students through innovative teaching methods and hands-on learning experiences.
4. Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development and school initiatives.
5. Assessment & Reporting: Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and prepare reports in line with curriculum requirements.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
1. Relevant teaching qualification (Education degree with appropriate subject specialisation)
2. Valid and up-to-date VIT registration
3. Unrestricted working rights in Australia
4. Ability to provide two education-based references from within the last five years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
Desired:
1. Previous experience teaching Psychology and/or Junior Science in a secondary school setting
2. Strong classroom management and communication skills
3. A passion for fostering student engagement and academic growth
