About the Role
The System Performance Division is responsible for leveraging data to improve educational outcomes. It does this by effectively curating, managing, and analysing data to provide advice and insight that supports evidence-informed practices. This division fosters a data literate culture and provides data analytics and business intelligence services to the Department for Education.
Data Operations and Service Directorate
This directorate is the engine room of System Performance. It ensures that data is clean, high quality, usable and available by ingesting, storing, organising, and managing data held in the Department's data warehouses/repositories.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaising with customers to assess and prioritise their requirements
* Leading data governance operations for the Department
Job Requirements
The successful applicant will contribute to data engineering projects by assisting with building a strong foundation in data processing, pipeline development, and data management within a Microsoft cloud environment alongside Databricks.
Qualifications and Conditions
The position requires no essential qualifications. However, desirable qualifications include a tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field, along with certifications in Databases, Data Warehousing, Power BI or similar.
The successful applicant must obtain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check prior to employment. They will also be required to undertake the RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course.
Remuneration and Benefits
The ASO3 salary range is $67,589 - $72,033 per annum, plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
