Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
· Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen management.
· Knowledge of Food Hygiene and OH&S Standards.
· A professional presentation and approach.
· Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure.
· Innovative and organised.
Duties you will perform:
· Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
· Be responsible for quality control and tasting the dishes; making sure they are at the right standard and are presented correctly before they go out to the customer.
· Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff.
· Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
· Preparing and cooking food.
· Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.
· Selecting and training staff.
· Managing freezing and preservation of food.
· Creating a vision for the cuisine, inspiring your team and delegating tasks effectively.
· Recruiting, motivating and managing staff.
· Overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ordering supply and undertaking the kitchen inventory (including budgeting).
· Overseeing hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Compensation and benefits:
· Salary of $80,000-90,0000
